LISTENING TO CITIES
For Organizations

Curated cultural formats for programs, conferences, and institutions.

Cities are more than destinations or venues.
They are shaped by history, social structures, and cultural expression — and music is one of the most revealing ways to understand this relationship.

What We Offer

Citi-Tunes offers curated, music-based city explorations designed specifically for organizations seeking meaningful cultural engagement for their groups. Our guided walking formats use music as an interpretive lens. Music becomes a window into history, society, and place, and the tours deliver contextual, narrative experiences that combine:

  • Culture and history,

  • Urban development,

  • Social and political context with

  • Guided listening and Storytelling

These tours are currently available for Bonn and Helsinki, with further locations under development. Our formats are suitable for international groups and can be tailored to different levels of prior knowledge.

The “Listening to Cities” format has proven to be ideal for:

  • Cultural and educational institutions
(museums, universities, summer schools, adult education programs)

  • Conference and event organizers
(academic conferences, policy events, cultural or corporate offsites)

  • Cultural travel agencies and tour operators
(study tours, thematic travel, high-end cultural programs)

  • Foundations, associations, and international programs
    seeking place-based cultural orientation

Typical Use Cases

Organizations integrate Citi-Tunes Listening-experiences as:

  • a conference side program or opening/closing experience

  • a contextual city introduction for international guests

  • a learning-based cultural module within an educational program

  • a differentiated city experience within curated travel itineraries

Rather than adding “another activity,” Citi-Tunes provides a cultural frame for guests to understand their location and why that place matters.

Citi-Tunes “Listening to Cities” format offers:

  • Music as cultural evidence

    • Music samples are incorporated as a historical and social source of inspiration

  • Two-way perspective

    • We explore how cities shaped their music and how music shaped the identity and development of cities.

  • Interpretation over information

    • The focus lies on meaning, context, and connection without abandoning facts or timelines.

  • Adaptable formats

    • Tours can be adjusted in length, focus, and narrative to fit your program.
